Yes, they've certainly got a lot in common. But then they have fairly similar ancestry too.

Well, with maniraptorans being the number one candidates, it's almost inevitable. And I do think corvids are cognitively closest to humans of all non-hominins, at least if you believe certain researchers.
Corvus is like an avian Homo, in terms of the intelligence that varies between the species. They would make great models to how the various extinct humans coexist and thrived.
