Thay are real in the sense that they are full size, full weight replicas. However they are not forged in a 'smiths. The blades are made of 420J stainless steel, not carbon or spring steel that most 'real' swords would be made of. These are simply beautiful decorational peices and not suitable at all for fighting with.
Having said that, you could fight with them, and you can definitly do someone some serius damage, or even kill them. The blades would get damaged pretty quick.
For that reason (and I don't want to spend my life in prison) they'll stay on the wall with all my other LOTR weapons

Altough I guess according to their amazing look we definitely can put them in the "dissuasive" weapons type (like nuke) lol.
