I love Skylanders too! i don't have the game, but i am gonna buy it!
I've been playing it for weeks now and I LOVE it! It does turn out to be quite an exspense, though >_> I already have seven characters and need three more in order to complete the game 100% (which stinks) and considering that I also WANT others only increases the price. And if you include the Game Guide which I have and the four Adventure packs, yeah, it's a LOT of money. >_>
BUT. It's fun to play the game and get treasure and stuff.

For Air I would suggest getting Whirlwind because once upgraded her attacks are really powerful. And for fire, save your money. Don't get a fire until Sunburn and his advneture pack comes out, that way you can get him, a new level, and SPARX! 
And save your money for Pirate Seas and Darklight Crypt. Which by the way Darklight Crypt was sooo scary becayse there's this blueberry guy that talks to you for about an hour. NON STOP. But it's a fun level.

My brother LOVES Chop Chop, he's the character for him. XD (And they really do look the same too) And if you really feel like going LoS on all the bad guys, just get GR because he KILLS EVERYONE. AND EATS THEIR SOULS.
