Yeah don't worry, I had the same problem on some pics too. then they became extremely short for some reasons, I wanted to avoid the NOPE parody I got on ponibooru. xD But style isn't an excuse for anatomy, sad truth x)

All right, let's see it that way: I've seen two versions of anthro ponies around. With short necks, and with a little longer ones. Short necks give them that feel of cartoon character walking on two legs from the very start, while longer necks make them look like the pony taken straight from original series, which somebody just forced to standing on two legs xD I hope you get what I mean. Somehow, longer necks seem more correct to original ponies, I guess that's what I'm saying. And, when you want to keep them for anthro form, they start to look... weird (I still like them more that way anyway :3)

You know, I tought about what I just said while looking at some of my furry work, and... I think it's linked to the style, finally xD
I tend to make necks really short in fact. Really small. But yeah, you can find many different ways to draw ponies on the internet. Anthro, cartoon, realistic, whatever you want, there's a lot of possible interpretations.

So I guess the fact I don't like long necks might just be my opinion and my personal way to look at things. It's not an technical "error", I just prefer it like that. ^^ So I'm also going to withdraw what I said some minutes ago: Long necks works too. Even if I don't like it ;)
But yes, I agree by the fact real ponies in real life do have long necks, eheh. ^^"

Haha ^^ Yeah, it is connected to both, style and anatomical interpretation. I think we can also explain it that way: short necks remain for anthro ponies, walking on two legs and it makes them anatomically correct, while long necks are for animals just standing on two legs (I think I prefer second option, it also happens sometimes in the series)
