Comment on A Mary Sue is.... by ZeroGravityCroquet

Well, the magic color changing eyes and purple hair fall into WSOD for me. If the character is in a world where having purple hair or color changing eyes is otherwise impossible and the character has them JUST CUZ, then I call Sue, as that breaks the WSOD. If it's not strange in the world to have purple hair and rainbow eyes, or if it is but there's a good reason behind it, then WSOD isn't broken for me, and I don't feel the need to characterize the character as a Sue based on outer appearance.
