Speaking from experience ... if the runners on that old sled are polished smooth, RD and that Snowboard would not stand a chance in a straight line speed race.
Those things could go FAST if you let them ... SCARY fast ...
I actually GREASED a sled once to see if I could make it go even faster.
... there IS such a thing as "Too Fast" ... especially when there are things like trees and people to dodge on the way down ... or streets and houses many yards beyond the bottom of the hill if you fail to put on the brakes in time.
Of course, that personal experience only adds an extra layer of enjoyment to this wonderful and amusing image.
