Yes I know, P. perotorum and Cuspicephalus... Wish the ICZN finally realizes that we now live in a digital world and start validating species when the paper is accepted and published electronically... ;) Happy New year!

Argreed! I missed Cuspicephalus actually, was referring to P. perotorum and J. plamapenis wich is also still in press.

(the problem is that some of these are still not even finished papers just draft manuscripts--if they came out in print the ICZN would still not recognize them in that form AFAIK).

I think species validity should start as soon as the paper got officially accepted for publication (after being peer-reviewed) which is always the case when the journal publisher release it electronically. In the future, there will be more an more journals which will only publish in electronic form. In paleontology, this has already started with "Paleontologia Electronica". At some point the ICZN will have to acknowledge those as well.
