Comment on Mail Notifier by DanielNET

hmm... it looks neat. But... I'm already notified of new emails with Windows Live Mail (and I've quit using email addresses that I can't transfer to Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail), so it's pretty pointless for me to download it. ^_^"
How'd you make it? I wouldn't mind being able to make something like that sometime (an application, not an email alert thing), but I never really figured out how to make programs that work on a computer like that.

You're still getting notifications from Windows Live? They made me "update" mine, and it just merged it with Skype and now I can't get the notifications anymore -.-

Windows Live Mail, the email application. I did use Outlook Express for email, but that program messed up on me at one point, so I switched programs.
But, I'm still on MSN/Windows Live Messenger. For some reason, they haven't made me update yet, despite it being past the posted date. But, they're trying to trick me into switching over. Every time I wake up my computer after it falling to sleep, I get a pop-up asking if I want to upgrade it now. They'll probably eventually make it mandatory.
I never got email notifications from the messenger for my email addresses. For awhile, it did tell me I had one or two unread emails, and it was really annoying because I didn't know what it was talking about and couldn't find any way of finding out. Not long ago, my brother told me something about an online inbox they give people, and I went to look, and that's where those email things were. I never even knew about it, so it won't bother me if it's gone when switching to Skype.

Oooh, the application, ok. Yeah, they made me update my messenger; it wasn't an option :< That's strange that you didn't get email updates from messenger...I got a little popup in the corner of my screen every time I got an email. It would tell me the title and who it was from. Very handy! And now it's gone :/

Huh. Maybe there was some option that I just didn't set up or enable or something. But I just keep my email application open all the time, and when I get a new email the icon will change (and it'll make a sound, if I have my headphones on where I can hear it). It would be handy if it would tell me the subject and sender, though, since a lot of times I get excited about a new email and it ends up being junkmail. ^_^"
I think my brother was hoping that Skype would adopt some of the messenger's features, but it doesn't seem like they have. Did you try searching online for a way to get the email pop-ups on Skype? Maybe there's a way and it's just hidden or something. Though it's probably just hopeful thinking.

I kind of half-heartedly searched for a way to get email updates, but I think the problem is that I sign into Skype with a Skype username, instead of using my hotmail account. If I used the email to sign in, it might work differently...
