Even if he never got much screen time, he was still one of the most tragic characters in this story. Particularly since he was rendered mute, there's no way BJ and crew could have known at the time that he really wasn't a monster, and was most likely being coerced into doing the things he did.

Even if he never got much screen time, he was still one of the most tragic characters in this story. Particularly since he was rendered mute, there's no way BJ and crew could have known at the time that he really wasn't a monster, and was most likely being coerced into doing the things he did.
When he first came up in the story, I felt that his appearence and role had gone by too quickly and was quite happy and saddened when more of his backstory came to light, culminating in that letter that gives the reader a glimpse into how his mind worked. Tragic indeed.
