Indeed the religions have a surprising "giant" power of manipulation, which astonishes me.
It's powerful enough to make people give up their lives, dreams, projects and ambitions to dedicate his/her life to fairy tales and an invisible being, either:

- An imaginary friend who suffers from a double/multiple personalities disease, like in Jim Carrey's movie "Me, Myself & Irene"[Christians, Evangelics/Protestants and Jews, who by the way, share the same god however don't get along...So much for the "agape" love, don't you think ?];

- Or an imaginary friend who promotes violence against women, "tykebombs"(TV Tropes FTW!) and "holy wars" against the "infidel dogs". And they say that this is the "religion of peace". :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: [Islam]
If this religion can't bring proper and true peace to the world, imagine the other ones... ;P

But you know what ? You don't friggin' need religions to have peace, to prosper and/or to be a "good"/"nice"/"gentle" person. The "sin"/"regret"/"guilt" and the chaos only exist IF YOU ALLOW THEM TO EXIST. Which means that a happy and peaceful life depends of YOU and only YOU! Don't be so dependant on others, just do something by yourself for once for crying out loud!

Religions are specially applied in poor/developing countries, which are used and abused like there's no tomorrow in order to make people "dumb" and "numbed" about reality and unable to fight for their rights, because now their lives are restricted and dedicated to an invisible being. And this is one of "pros" of religion: It ables the governments to use them to hide their imcopetence and treat mostly of its population as some sort of "cattle", as they are now "bind" to their wills.
No wonder in these places religions are more important than anything else - [link] and [link]

It's like George Orwell's "1984" and "Zardoz" all over again...

"The Big Brother is watching you!"
"The Gun is good! But the Penis is bad!"

What intrigues me is how religion, mostly of times, only brought more "cons" than "pros" along the time, like fanatism; nazism/facism/neo-nazism; hate and indiference towards "infidels"/atheists/agnostics/non-regilious/gays/lesbians/bi people and also different cultures; brainwashing; "brutalization" and "dumbing down" of population; divisions between people who could be friends, however, they're separated due to this sillyness.

Don't you ever get me started on the many contradictions in the Bible and the so-called "god's Four Failures" (Adam and Eve, Noah's Ark, Moses and the "promised" land and Jesus Christ's Death and Ressurection).

The keywords here are "THINK" and "QUESTION".

THINK: Why I'm doing this ? Do I really need this to make my life complete ? Why do I still feel myself empty ? Why I can't fight for my rights ? Why I'm not doing things by myself but instead I'm waiting a miracle from my imaginary friend to happen ? Is god the best life-time resource ? Why do I feel myself so guilty ? Why my self-esteem is going downhill and not uphill ? Is my religion really the solution to all my problems ?

QUESTION: Does this Heaven exist ? Why you can't respect other people's opinions/beliefs/sexual orientations ? Why do they force their beliefs into other people ? Why people without god live normal and good lifes ? Why god don't punish these assholes ? Why my religion has so many contradictions ? Why my religion of peace promotes violence and war against the "wicked" ones ? If god exists and Jesus died for our sins, why people still suffer ? Because they're wretched sinners possessed by the devil ? I guess not, because he claims to be powerful and watch over all people in Earth and that he loved us since we were sinners! Is my god an invented one ? Why my god is so goddamn human ? Why my god has multiple personalities ? Why this god wants me to escape from the evil[sins, troubles and etc] and believe in him when he himself ALSO created the evil ?
