The V-wing would be a good idea but Empire didn't pay much attention to safety in their ships so costs were kept down at all ... cost :D
The ARC was made by the Incom and as far as I remember the owners escaped with X-wing plans and destroyed everything so that the Empire couldn't take it. I think that was written in one of the Star Wars books so should be fairly accurate.

I think the reason why all that happened is the Empire nationalized all the corporations to prevent the Trade Federation take II from happening, and since another company got the big military contract the guys at Incom were just not happy.

Yeah the Sienar and Kuat probably made most, if not all, of Empire's stuff so someone had to be sad about that decision. And on top of it, being rebelious is cool :D

I really enjoy this conversation despite not being a part of it. A rare occurence indeed. But being an insufferable blabbermouth I had to butt in and state that Incom was nationalised by The Galactic Empire after that X-wing fiasco. The X-wing design team went on to found frietek Inc. which in turn designed & produced the superior (disputable) E-wing fighter. Meanwhile Incom, loosing most of its think tank team to Frietek Inc. produced unimpressive I-7 Howlrunner fighter

You two possibly knew all this but as I said sometimes I can't help myself, sorry :)Hope you don't mind me invading your chat

No problem, if we wanted a private conversation it would've taken place over notes.

What you say is generally true, although there might have been a retcon or two between when you saw that and this [link]

Interesting I assumed FrieTek was founded by the original designers of x-wing which obviously was not the case. Also I was not aware that Incom pulled together & stayed neutral post-palpatine era. Thanks

Can't say I'm surprised, since the galaxy was a mess after Palpatine died...and came back...and died again. Makes sense for them to sell to the highest bidder as time progresses, hell the Imperial Remnant is around for about a century after Palpatine got tossed down the reactor shaft.

Nah it's fine :) I didn't know the story behind the E-wing though. I am pretty informed about Star Wars stuff but I don't go that deep into the expanded universe stuff.

that's why we scary nerds are runing around. We dig deep :)
