Yeah, me too. I thought I could trust Esbern and Delphine. When they ordered me to kill him... I just ran away from them. I won't kill Paarthunax. Not for anything :) I hope I won't need the Blades to defeat Alduin :)

It was a harder decision for me. I liked Paarthurnax, but seeing as how he used to be Alduin's second-in-command, I was worried that his apparent reformation was nothing but a very long-term plot to overthrow Alduin and take his place as king of dragons. Paarthurnax himself admits his own instinct to dominate. After what Delphine said, I didn't want to overthrow Alduin only to be betrayed by his seemingly charming former lieutenant afterwards.

So if you're playing Skyrim, here's a helpful poem
Only trust an elf or dragon, as far as you can throw 'em!

but he doesn't betray you. If you killed him I pitty you. Sorry not personal just Paarthurnax is just that awsome that I will get up in arms to defend him.

I didn't kill him. I'm just saying that at that point in the game, if you roleplay and think about it from your characters perspective, Paarthurnax COULD be playing you for a fool. Ambition-Overlord-Cruelty?
