I did get that impression too.
To be fair to Somber though, if there's any one pony who can legitimately claim to have been subjected to more physical and emotional abuse than Littlepip, its BJ. As for BJ one-upping LP in the actual battles, don't forget that BJ was drunk at the time. :D

My actual thought on it was that we're Seeing Blackjack after she's been through hell, and Littlepip's main tests (Arbu and the Canterlot Ruins) were still coming. Blackjack has her tests still coming too, but by that point, I think she'd dealt with a bit more.

And Somber answered with the same thing, BJ was drunk. ;)

Good point. Hadn't really given much thought to where LP was in her own timeline.

Aye, this puts Pip just after her first visit to the "goddess" and the adventures in Old Olneigh. While they had to be bad-ass to survive it, it was a different sort of threat than Blackjack has been dealing with. Sure Pip had survived Fillydelphia and the Ranger invasion of Stable 2, but there was still a lot more coming for her.

It did, however, make the conversation between BJ and Pip more relevant about Blackjack gassing 99.
