I couldn't agree more. 
Although I must admit; it were a bit annoying to save and load so much for each npc I encountered in them Daedric ruins... At lower levels, of course. But come to think of it... Perhaps that was for the best? Knowing there could be enemies lurking behind the next corner who could actually beat me(!) added a certain tension to the dungeon delving.
