I did say that the part where he had to disappear was very sad and that I felt it was unfair that he had to disappear once being touched by a human being

well; when I had asked I hadnt yet watched it all yet. (I just finished and omg it made me cry!)
And he wasn't technically cursed. They referred to it as a curse, but it was the way that the forest God helped save his life. He kind of states that its crappy magic. And that it helps him live but it was very easy to break. And I was assuming that it was because he was hundreds of years old and had started off as a person, that the older he got the easier it was for the spell to break. He shouldve died a long time before then, even if he wasnt abandoned as a child. I dont think that the forest God did it to be a jerk. It was just all he could do to help him live.
