I agree with you Ecokitty, the fans can be creative. 
Just listening to the canon couples and stories is plain boring and would not make up a fandom. I disagree with Mysterious here, for what's the point in hating a fandom? And certainly a show is spread by its fans and love but hating us fans? That's just plain discrimination and really rude to just judge us by a show we like. Defying the laws of the canon story is FINE.
