Yeah, I've yet to figure out the best way to "trick" Octane into doing a good fake reflection with a simple spherical reflection map.  Whenever I try it, it just doesn't turn out right.  I'll have to try again.

If you need some good metal materials for poser (originals) I can give you the links of the products in the renderosity store :)

Octane has LiveDB which has a selection of organic and inorganic materials you can use for Octane rendering.  The selection is pretty good and the materials are pretty good, too (but some are very complex and add a lot to render time).

Mmh Live DB means that it's a comunity thing or the octane guys do the work?

I went to see the price today ... almost 500 euros now! :(

Live DB has both Otoy and Community textures.  Not a HUGE selection, but lots of stuff.  I can usually find something like what I need, and then I can tweak it from there.

Yeah, Octane is ridiculously expensive.  Though I've been told by others here on DA that there are... other ways to get it (an older version, but still...)

Still I don't want to sell a kidney to buy a license for that stupid render engine :D

I think you can get it free (or cheaper?) if you're a student somewhere (may just need an .edu e-mail address to prove it?)

I'm afraid they will require more than a .edu email :)
For something they sell for 500 euros and I'm not a student anymore sadly ;)
