Flying battery is the best stge in sonic and knuckles even tough it was originaly supposed to be in sonic 3
I love both Flying Battery and Lava Reef
me too also i tried to access flying battery in sonic 3 and the game froze same with mooshroom hill,sandopolis,lava reef ,sky sanktuary,daeth egg , doomsday and the two other bonus stages (the boss acts of lava reef and death egg aswell hidden palace actually work but are like genocide city in sonic 2 beta )
Oh cool, I like all the beta-ish zones and seeing weird stuff happen 
Me too I LOVE to mess them up with PAR codes (swaping genocide city with Metropolis act 3 for example wich causes a very glitchy stage to load)
