i hope the translation you read was less difficoult than the original..!!
Well....for Inferno I read the Longfellow version, which...well, to be quite frank it's terrible, and by far the worst translation of the Divine Comedy I've ever read. It's so formal as to be almost unreadable. Like, I got the gist of what was being said, but it was so overly formal and clunky that it was just painful to read.
I didn't pick up the Divine Comedy until last Spring, but I got a really good translation (one I really liked, in any case) and so I enjoyed reading the rest of the Divine Comedy, though....it does take a bit of perseverence and just chugging on through at times.
Gustave Dore pictures do help a bit though.

instead, for my choose, i tried to read the Decameron but i found it heavy, because the prose is not fluent at all; i think that Divine Comedy is easier...!

I haven't read the Decameron, what's that about?
it's a book of Giovanni Boccaccio, that is the first commentator of the Comedy. it's the story of 7 girls and 3boy that runed away from Florence during the pestilence of 1348.they went in their the country houses and spent 10 days telling stories...
