Wow, this is GORGEOUS.
How did you get the gradation working there? I've tried something similar with an gift tail, but it didn't quite turn out like I wanted, being more patchy than gradiated. Any pointers for an amateur?

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I've seen brushes specifically designed to separate and then re-merge fibers like yarn back together. I would imagine that's what they have here

The tool is at almost any craft store and they're cheap... I think under $10?

Don't quote me, but I believe so. ^,...^

I'll have to look around and see if that's actually a thing. If it is, I'll definitely give it a go, I have a couple tails I've been wanting to make that I've been sitting on for fear of utterly ruining them with a lack of tools and experience. ^^;

Well, if you can't find the tool I can definitely get one for you if you want.

Is there a specific brand name, or any other reference I can refer to? It's hard to find something you don't even know the name of.

Yes! Try this... took me a while to find it, but this is one of the tools here: www.joann.com/fiber-blender-to…|dc&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=&utm_campaign=Shopping+-+Needle+Arts&CS_003=10131488&CS_010=%5BProductId%5D&gclid=CjwKEAiA_4emBRCxi8_f2cWWjFcSJAB-v1qyYaVA58fR0epWTm5RMgS2S5eEFz1drSo7fgfXM89gLxoC1qHw_wcB

Oh! Carding tools!
I think those are more for felting purposes, but I can see how it woul work to help blend different fibers together.
