oh, just something came to my mind which i totally forgot to mention, and which helped me more than a lot for getting a better color feeling.
for fun i made it to a kind of game to pick up colors manually, and then checked it with my reference, if i'm right with my choice.
i opened my colorpicker and picked up a color i thought it would fit the color in my reference. then i used the eyedroper and clicked on that color in my ref. i often was close to that color i choosed beforehand manually. :)
later on you can quite easily pick up colors also from life.
so, do this instead of just analyzing your ref. i think this will really help you in the beginning. you'll get a nice color memory. ^^

it sounds quite fun and educational. I´ll definitely do it. Everything seems less hard if it´s treated like a game ^^
