I'd go to the old asylum just down the street, but it has 24 hour patrols and their in the process of demo-ing the complex. :( If only I had the drive to photograph broken down old buildings in high school.

Oh, ok.. it may be possible, but with Security it's always a bit tense

Yeah, I know it's possible, I've had friends that used to go in there, but it's an active demo site now. They're in the middle of cleaning up the lead and asbestos... Not really feelin' it. Plus the place has been pretty well documented already (galleries at bottom of page): [link]

Looks impressive! I've been to West Park (UK), while it was under demolition. The workers spotted us, but they didn't really care. When we wanted to leave the asylum, we were caught by security and police. After a short lecture they escorted us out of the area :D

Security is a bit harsher at the asylum. There was enough copper in the place to scrap and pay for the clean-up, but it all got looted. Plus with a lot of unsafe structures, the local police have really cracked down trying to keep out kids and homeless people. A few years ago it wasn't so bad, nobody really cared, but the land has been the source of pretty big political debates recently.

I've heard the creepiest spot is the dilapidated chapel. :D
