Comment on Samus by Gx3RComics

Really nice job here.

I do agree that Metroid was an awesome series... until Team Ninja did that thing where Samus suddenly became damn near helpless and always seeking the approval of somebody.

Yeah, and the whole crying in fear over Ridley..the guy she's killed 5 times before.
It was just a bad game overall sadly.

My least-favorite part was the fact that Samus was clearly in a furnace, and she needed Adam Malkovich to tell her to activate the Varia Suit.

So, not only was she helpless, but her intellegence plummeted.

Then again, Team Ninja wasn't exactly the best choice for a game with a female lead. They did make 3 games that were basically excuses to put their female Dead or Alive fighters in bikinis, after all.

I beat the game and I couldn't sell it fast enough. I know a few people that actually like the game and say Samus wasn't stereotyped.

All those helpless scenes would have been fine ...if it was the first time out, this is her ...what 8th mission(that we've seen)? :| It think she has it down.

Also, have a laugh and compare it to the Fusion story. Pretty much identical.

Well, everybody is going to defend stuff. Hell, there are a few games I openly trash (and most deserve it) and there are people that like 'em a whole lot.

Problem was that the helpless stuff would've worked if it was her first serious mission (maybe something that was even before Zero Mission when she was still a teenager), but by then she was battle-hardened and understood that she should always expect the worst.

Yeah, it's almost identical, but Fusion had a better approach.

True, though I never understood defending a game when the company has a marketing dept for that haha.

Yeah that's what I'm talking about, it copied fusion and had a worse telling of the story. But oh well.
