They can with the critique option. The artist can state whether or not they would like their art critiqued upon submission and the critique system already has the 5 star option. Not much point to just have a "rate me" function that doesn't help the user.
true. But it would at least add a tad more diversity to the way we do things here.
I agree with C7colours... if everyone gets a 5-star rating system, it essentialy takes something quite considerable away from the Premium subscriber's Critique option. Let's not cheapen the experience or the art.
