I totally agree on that regard, this is mainly something the person for whom I am making this, wants. I do believe this will be mostly a bridge for docking and peactime configuration. Main operations or the CIC will be, like you mentioned, in the center of the ship where it has the best protection.

I don't fully understand how to make ships like you and the rest of the CoM members do. And I like the style, and it's a good step-forward to mapping out how I want ships to look before I go and make a 3d model.

It all depends on what you want for a commission. But if you are looking for multiple views (side/front/top etc views) it will probably be around $40.

No problem and indeed best to try yourself 
It also gives you more ways to learn it. As advice take a look at what is established. I would suggest taking a look at Galen82 or Madeinjapan's material as well as mine (check the favourites I have in the Chronicles of Man map) for inspiration. Make a sketch or a doodle and when you feel like it works use photoshop or illustrator
