I'm not sure I understood your comment: for being french, the subtlety of english language escapes me soemtimes...

As for this ship design, the thrusters located at the top and the bottom are mainly used as maneuver verniers but serves occasionnally as braking system when an urgent stop is required: they're not the standard brake thrusters actually.

so its quicker to have engines facing backwards for a fast slowdown than having to turn the whole ship the other way and then use the rear engines? :3
