maybe so, but in my brain i could still hear the creak of the boat and the oars
in the water as they navigated the narrow pass. i could also feel the unnerving
silence broken by unseen creatures watching from the darkness with calculating
eyes as they caught the scent of outsiders drifting further into the the fungal
forest
