Now that I've commissioned a few other artists since you, I keep getting more and more amazed by your skill. This isn't to say that the people I commissioned weren't good. They were excellent and very talented as well. However, the one thing you just mentioned that baffles me, or I found amazing (for a lack of a better word), was that you didn't need references from me. You just sketched my character from the character sheet and information I provided. After that, I assumed every artist could do that, lol. I was sorely mistaken and immediately figured out what a reference was
Anyway, I will continue to watch your career here on dA. I sincerely believe you'll go far with your skills

I think a lot of artists have that capacity (I feel like it's similar to creating an original character, only you have to interpret the writing), but I think many prefer to have references for commissions because it's probably easier and faster xD. I think I've seen some artists offer to design outfits for an additional fee though. Though I'm sorry if you tried to get them to design something for you and they didn't really meet your expectations ):

True. I definitely think it would be easier with references.
And well, no, for the most part I've been extremely happy with all my commissions or art trades. I mean, most of the people on here are doing this for free or just for points, which is pretty amazing There was only one person who drew it more towards the reference I'd provided than my description, but maybe I didn't describe my character well enough
