Strasbourg is great, isn't it? That cathedral! And Gutenberg square - we had lunch there after walking and shooting pictures for a couple of hours.
It was BIG fun to meet Ulrich. It was a fast visit because I was in Europe to see friends in Geneva, but with Germany right there we had to find a way to meet and we did - he drove and I took a train. I knew that in person he wouldn't be exactly the way he is online - because none of us is - but he is a great guy online and he was a great guy in person. It was a devmeet of the two of us
and one of my sons was with me too.
I've also met Laura Holmes, she turned out to live two hours away from me when I was in PA - even closer now I'm in CT - and we get along so well that my wife and I and she and her husband get together twice a year for a long lunch where we catch up with each other about everything. People of a certain mindset say that social media push people away from each other but my experience has been exactly the opposite! There are other deviants I know it would be wonderful to meet but haven't had the opportunity.
