Perhaps it's the mindset the previous games put you in? Each of those games plays a little differently, so when you've 'mastered' the strategy to one game, you walk into the next one expecting much the same thing, but it turns out not to be the case. Most of the difficulty with FNAF is
1. Figuring out what you're supposed to do.
2. Staying calm.
Even if you know EXACTLY what you need to do, having 'enemies' coming at you rapid-fire (or in the case of 3, the phantoms stun your character or your crappy equipment malfunctions every five seconds) it tends to build up a sense of anxiousness, which can lead to panic, which then can lead to many a mistake that you otherwise would not have made.
