such a surreal scene!
unbelievably good image, Ulrich (the quality of the light, i think, makes all the difference between just another curious shot and this, umm i will say again, surreal image)

yes. i am thinking that the surreal aspect comes from the fact that the painted figure on the shed throws a shadow which is not far away from the real illumination on that afternoon.
what annoys me here all the time that i could not avoid the overexposed spots in those clouds, even though i tried a lot.
the recent camera would have handled it, i am quite sure about that.

you see, that's the difference between you and me. you think like a photographer (which is normal, you'd say) and i think like a... (a what, already?) i won't say a painter, i'm not, but those white spots don't bother me at all, in fact they respond quite well to the white of the  shed. maybe i think in the terms of the image, simply. look at this yellow field! but mostly, look at this light! you're totally right about the shadows being almost the same, contributes to create the illusion of reality -still knowing it's not- this creates a "malaise" which works very well towards the subtle surreal quality of it.
the only thing that bothers me is the grey color of the clouds above (of course, as a photographer, you got them right. i'm talking as a painter :P) lol

for me, it IS perfect as it is.

well, i agree with most what you say here.
but i make a difference between these sort of landscape shots which i like to be technically alright, even when the scenery is somehow surreal :-)
when it comes to abstracts, double and long exposures, this issue certainly is a completely different one.
so maybe i am a borderline walker here ;-)
