That would suck sooo bad for that pony. Let's keep the pony happy and...without brutal burns on the flanks.

But isn't that where the idea for cutiemarks came from? Ranchers would use hot iron to brand their horses to show ownership.

yeah, It may have intially come from that, but do they still do that? I thought branding wasn't used anymore.

They have a thing called freeze branding

oh, I haven't heard of that, but it makes alot more sense. I still don't think I would make an animal go through something like that though. I'm not one of those 'animal rights' whatevers, but I don't believe an animal should go through more pain than nessesary in it's lifetime.

From what the youtube videos say, it's not painful to the horse.
