It is very religious, but during 8 years it was the socialist party who ruled, in this time legallized the gay marriage and a lot of progresists changes.

In the chase that i told you, the doctor neglected but, didnt tell to the patient that he was failed. And three months later when she realized she was still pregnant it was illegal to abort. The doctor said it was not his fault, and they both went to courts... Long story, at the end the woman won the case, and because the bad treatment, the doctor had to pay the tuition of the child.

Imagine it was not an abortion case but a cancer one...

I too think 25 years of tuition maybe a little... but, the woman surely needs a compensation, dont you think? If she wasnt married? If the chid was from an unfidelity? If she was minor? or just to poor?

Thanks to answer, i like a lot to talk with interesant people.

I see. I've never been to Spain. I'm curious as to how it works here. I know that it used to be a dictator, Franco, who ruled in the 70's.

If the doctor was negligent, he has to pay for it, of course, but 25 years in prison is a little too much for me. He didn't cause the death of the woman.
Doctors can make mistakes, even with the best intentions in the world. All humans make mistakes. But if it's caused by neglect, that's another story.

I agree the woman needs a compensation for what she's been through. In my eyes, if she wasn't married or infidel does not make it any worse, but I guess the society certainly would find it immoral.

I'm always happy to talk to people about our different opinions, as long as it remains respectful!

My english is not very good... there is a mistake, the doctor dont have to go to prison, only to pay for the children until he grow up. xP

And yes, Franco was a dictator that ruled here until the 75. When he died, there was a paceful transition to democracy, by the hand of our actual king.

Actual spanish society still devided into two, traitionalists, and progresists... they both tend to be radicals. Religious people with closed minds, and the other ones are almost comunists. The people in the middle have to suffer them, U¬¬ . Thats why morallity here is just a point of view. And if it wasnt bad enough, the global crysis stroke us really hard, leading us to the 20% of unnemployed population.

I dont know how are the news in your coutry but, europe, is a total mess!

I'm from Canada, and from what I can see, it is very divided between French speakers (like me) and English speakers because, on contrary to popular belief, there ARE french speakers in Canada and we are a nation of our own. We do not want to be associated with the english canadians. We are totally different in the way our mind works. French speakers tend to be more progressist. English to be more traditionalists. But extreme ideologies are not well accepted in Canada. We do not like extremes, we do not like conflict. In my region, canadians are generally non-practicing christians. In terms of religon, people stay moderate. But there ARE some extremists. Progressits tend to be much less radical and violent. I never heard of a violent act from progressists in my life.

My country is known worldwide to be a peaceful and free country. But now, the reality is quite different. Our Prime Minister, Stephen Harper covers us in shame in front of the whole world. He doesn't give a damn about the environment, making the rest of the world believe ALL Canadians don't care. Some really don't care at all, but in my province, Quebec, where we speak french and have a fundamentally different culture and way of life, we care a lot more about it than the general English Canadians.
Harper is the leader of the Conservative party. The name says it all. Abhortions are legal in our country. We had what we called the Quiet Revolution (which was not quiet at all in fact) in the 60s to completely separate religion from the government. The people won and religion was separated from politics. But the Conservative party is trying to bring it back in, without people really realizing it. They want to criminalise abhoritions again. They really don't care about women's rights. Their publicity is very close to being propaganda. I don't speak for all canadians, I speak for myself. I am ashamed of my government, of being Canadian. I have to stick to my Quebecer identity, for the sake of dignity.

Yet, even now, Quebec itself is in a social crisis so serious they hear about it in South America, US and Europe. Our provincial Prime Minister wants to raise the price to have access to University of 82%. Of course, students don't agree, because they want education to be acessible. There were many manisfestations, many people were wounded. The government refuses to listen to the students. Now they created a law that basically forbids manifestations. Democraty is threatened in what used to be the most free place in the world. Or government is corrupt, controlled my the mafia. They tell us they will use the money to finance the Universities, but many don't believe them. This money is never returning to us again. It will all go to organized crime. We're being hopelessly robbed and we can't do a thing about it. I'm afraid someone will have to get killed for things to move.

It is a very very complex conflict, I could give you all the details but it's be far too long. It's been lasting for three months already. There never was such a long and intense crisis in Queber since the 60s. It's a mess in Canada too...

Oh my god! is like what is hapening here!! Wtf!!Are all the politicians in complot against their own countries!!?

Last 12 of may, here we made protest marchs all through the country against the clippings on the education and sanity statal budgets. They raised the univertsity taxes 50%, reduced in the same way the college scholarships... Increased the class ratio in the elementary school to 28 children per class, just to hire less teachers. And reduced the teachers salary, (Now the average is 1200€, almost 1500 dollars per month)And another changes like, this year there wasnt any opositions (an statal exam all the teachers must pass to obtain the right to work, after getting your teacher degree, in this way you cant work in any school unless you pass the exam). There is an opositions exam only every two years, so there is a lot more of people that cant even start to work (in four years).

And sanity services, they always been free, even if you were unemployed. But now, the unemployed losses their covertures in one year and there is an unemployment of 25% in Spain. so you can guess what will happen when people start getting sick... And pensioners will have to pay for their medicins, that were for free a month ago. An average pensioner has 400 or 500€ per month, 600 dollars.

Our taxes are going to pay the breaking down banks that put our country in this mess, just because Merkel ,canciller from germany, impose on the EU that we have to reduce 6 points of the inflaction rate, what all the socioeconomists sais it´s impossile.

Every day hundred of families goes to the streets because the banks take their houses, 'cause the unpaid mortages...

Some day, instead the protests they will get people on the streets with guns.

In the tv news they say that all the world is doing better, that they are all almost recovered from the global crisis. Just Italy, Grece and Portugal did bad, and had to be rescued by the EU. And that if we want to recover have to do as canciller Merkel sais.

Just a big ball of bullshit, they only lie to us, to covert their own interests. I tell you what will happen, they will start another war. Another war with some arabian poor country for the oil.

I am sick of all this, sick of them, of sopa, pipa, and their manipulation of the truth. I bet they think if less people go to the university, the global opinion will be more stupid, and can manipulate us easily.

Something big will happen soon.
Juunibi's avatar
Of course, same here. If it costs 85% more to go to university in Canada, many people won't be able to afford it and won't get good jobs. That's what dictators do. Uneducated people are easy to manipulate. Nowadays I wonder what became of my beloved free nation.
Now from what you tell me, it seems the world is regressing and that we are going back under dictature.

Money is ruling our world. For environment, health and education, they're not going to do anything if they don't get money out of it. The only reason they go to Afganistan, Irak and such is because of the oil. Not about that crap about saving the world from evil terrorists. They couldn't care less about the people. All they want is money.

We're getting manipulated. I never though I'd see something like that in my country, but it happens. Corruptions, destroying of our environment because our government GIVES our natural resources to foreign companies who don't pay taxes. We gain NOTHING from it, all we get are the consequences of the exploitation, pollution and wiped out forests.

Companies rule this world. Not the goverment. Not us. Companies.
Something big WILL have to happen. Thing simply can't go one like this.
LadyRoadx's avatar
Sure things cant go on like this, but who will rise his hand? People are too afraid of consequencies, or just too centred in their own problems.

I'm really scared myself too, here were i live, people cant pay their own houses, there is no work, and governement only tell us about sacrifices but, there is nothing left to sacrifice.

Today a friend of mine has come back from Germany, he went there looking for work, and came back empthy handed...

The only thing that would hurt them is to not guive them our money. But, how could it be possible? Or just to get all our money out the banks so they can not keep playing with it. Only if millions of people did that, would make some harm.

Where is robin hood when he is needed? xDDD

They do this to us just because they can scare us, if we werent so terrified this wouldnt be this way.

People react slowly, when when things get real bad, they'll act. They will have no choice. Humans never act unless there are concrete consequences on their lives. If it touched their wallet, then they're ready for anything.
