Ah, well, I'm not sure if I'm the best person to advise you on that; what do you want to do? If it's the art industry, then the art industry is actually a pretty broad field and there's still a lot to choose from; I also know a lot of people who just do it as a hobby even though they're very good (they feel like it won't be enjoyable anymore if they made it into their profession). It also depends on your budget to spend on college and if you want to go to a university for art or go to those private art colleges (which all the big-named art-schools are but they are hella expensive).

I do want to say that unless you're REALLY REALLY passionate about art, you won't find work very enjoyable, especially if you're in the animation industry where you often have to work unpaid overtime to finish your section of the project. I've seen people drop out of the animation program I was in because they couldn't take the workload where we sometimes had to pull all-nighters to complete.

wow. Well, I honestly don't know what I want to do besides animation. I do know that it can be stressing but I really do love it. I also have considered to minor(?) on film... but that's also pretty hard to get huh? man, I don't know what to do with my life.
Right now, I do some film for my brother's small business. So I guess that's what I would continue to do when it becomes bigger.... hopefully.

if you really love animation and have the money, I'd say go for schools like Cal-arts or something :). There should be lists online for the best animation schools (or you can come to canada and study in Sheridan? xD; that's where I studied animation: Sheridan College)

Ohh well i would like to go to canada :) but i'm poor :( what money currency do they use?? And what degree were you able to get?

um...Canadian dollars? Canadian and US dollars are basically one to one. And Sheridan program's actually cheaper than most american (private) art-schools, even if you're studying with international-student-rates. Although if your local university has a good art program, perhaps you could go for those too? I hear it's a lot cheaper too.

I got a Bachelors of Applied Arts - Animation degree.

Lol i know i know... I was just really tired when i replied.... Sorry for asking such a stupid question xDDD

And that sou ds good... I was going to go to an art institute, but then I heard all about their scams and putting people in way too much debt..... So that's a no. And do you think that degree could land me a job as a cartoonist maybe????

Well, I know for sure that CalArts and Art Center are not scams, so if you're interested in art institutes, those are the two top ones for animation/design stuff.

are you talking about my bachelor's degree? Yah, I have a lot of friends who graduated with me and are working in the animation industry. I know three that are working in pixar, actually, for storyboarding.

Wow. Well i 'll do some research on those.
And that sounds really good! Well, thank you so much for helping me. Thanks to you I have a clearer vision of what I'm going to do, :D ^____^
