I had the same problem with other patterns (a fish one I made actually, the fins) as far as the size goes. For my pattern I had to triple the size of the fins to get them to look right. I never would have thought of doing manes this way though, this is great! Now just for trial and error on styles and sizes. Not sure how big I want to make my ponies yet, hehe.

Im glad to hear that this will work well for you! c: The only time that it will be a tad difficult will be with hair styles such as Fluttershy and Rarity because their hair flips and curls. I recommend using wire for curls and to make many rough drafts with basic paper so you can see how the shapes would turn out! c:

Yeah, i figured curls and flips would be most difficult.. the pony I'm making for my daughter wont have that problem, unless she changes her mind again, I'm just waiting on the design for my niece's pony, and knowing her.. she'll pick out something that will have all flips and curls and everything in between, hehe.
