Blizzard is kind of like the Romans. And America. They're a mix of other cultures and mythologies done in a way that's more them and works. When it comes to mythologies and stuff they're based off of, they're like a melting pot-but with it's own style of the same thing.
They're based off the biggest and most well known styles of Greek and Western European myths, but sylewise they go from there to native American and what have you. Be nice if they delved into philipino mythology-that's some neat small scale stuff.

what's there in philiino mythology, btw? Try to look it up on wiki, the names of the monsters are hard to spell and remember. Maybe start with fetus eater, but doggonnit you find the stuff I was looking at all in one page you might be impressed.

"doesn't take a genius to know the basic ancient myth critters." true, but, I mean, when 3DO made "Heroes of Might and Magic" they used mythology too, but they didn't name satyrs some gobbledygook names, in a failed attempt to deceive someone that it's their original creation
