I do not see any problem though.

If take a look at this image of mine..depicting the Mainlobe of the Radar antenna, you may notice that there is no interference between the tilt engine and the Radar antenna. Thus surveillance capability is not hampered.

The blue elipse is the antenna's mainlobe, and the red box is the search sector.

So even in hover, Elimona can still do surveillance work.

And let's not forget on how a tiltrotor actually fly...where the rotor is used to provide thrust to move forward, while lift is generated by the wings.

For example let's take a look on the XV-15

So when Elimona entered "aircraft mode" the tilt engine will be tilted back to horizontal position, and together with the turbofan engine, generates forward thrust just like any other prop driven planes.

Thus how could be any interference of aperture blocking ?
