Dpi means Dots Per Inch. Or pixels
If you ever zoom in retardedly close to an image in Photoshop you can see all the dots :they look like squares:. So if you tink 600 dpi, that's 600 dots per inch of your canvas, that's a LOT of.... room ot paint on XD. If you have Photoshop just go to Help and it explains a lot of this as well .
