I always do full repaints. Some people use paint thinner to take off the cutie mark/eyes of the ponies so they only have to paint those parts, but I prefer how full repaints look. So if I made a Rainbow Dash out of a Rainbow Dash or out of a Fluttershy, it would be the same.

I visited Australia once when I was young - it was goregous! And maybe they'll have an Australian BronyCon for you to go to sometime in the future
