No idea. It seems to be of Celtic origins. Probably latinized.
It's highly mixed society, both of Celts and Roman ones, they just turned to Christianity after rule of the Western Roman Empire - in fact, no one is 100% sure about roots of England. I had went to English Philology and no one is sure for 100%.
