Tried your params, but seem to be missing the color map #18. Having only recently started out with MB3, perhaps my setup was faulty. Fractal Forums doesn't seem to have the standard set of maps. Any idea where I might get them from? I am especially interested in how you achieved the control to color the "leaves".

Color Map #18 isn't included with MB3D. I think it includes up to #16, and beyond that you can add your own, just make sure you name them with a number. I use jpg's mostly.
Mandelbulb Salad colors were achieved by randomly adjusting color settings until I got something I liked.

Thanks for clearing that up. Have you seen any tutorials on using light maps on the object/lights and how they are affected by the resolution of the map? Seems high resolution maps produce higher noise when applied to the object. And man those X/Y offsets just don't make sense. I had a look on Fractal Forums, but couldn't find anything.

The high res maps do produce more noise. What I did to dumb down the noise was blur the maps in Photoshop.

Good idea! Dust and Scratches filter work a treat. The temptation is to do it all in MB3D, but of course PS makes it that much easier and faster. Thanks Brent.
