I like how you turned the camera to use the bottom of the polaroid as negative space.

thanks. this was shot with the prontob, whose viewfinder does not line up with the lens. you also have to estimate focus. so... not an easy shot, despite appearances. just bought some good stuff (time-zero not so expired) last night on ebay!

That's quite impressive! I also know all too well the joys of estimating focus (the swc is a rangefinder and it's viewfinder does not measure distance, and as I recently discovered, hyperfocal focusing is NOT a good method of focusing, even at small apertures).

That's good about the film! Ever thought of switching to Fuji instant film when the polaroid is dead? Cameras like the Mamiya 600SE also make incredible images.

also... how can you throw around phrases such as, "when the polaroid is dead"?

;-)

haha I meant the brand, but not instant film in general :P

If I had the capital, I'd buy their technology. As you must know, they are looking to sell it off but haven't found a buyer. I think it would be a smart investment for anyone, just needs some good marketing and an appropriate price point.

hopefully they will make it inexpensive enough for someone to buy, even a small manufacturer. they won't make money on it as it is now.

i think i'll get a polaroid back for my holgas, as fuji has film for those. i also have a daylab pinhole, and i have used fujifilm in it. i'll probably be forced to bite the bullet and get a real camera, though. ;-)
