Thanks Paula. Yes, my watchers are brilliant at giving feedback. I like how they will speak the brutal truth and say Oberon looks like a girl at the moment, or the perspective is wrong, etc. As artists, we don't always see what others see as we're too close to the work and it can take a while to realise something is not right. Gordon, AKA ~dashinvaine has been a brilliant mate as far as critiquing my WIPs over the years, and I often do the same for him.

I used to be more in the habit of posting work in progress, it seems to make much more sense to get feedback before the drawing is finished, rather than when it's done and probably too late to change anything. Deviantart admin get uppity every now and then about moving WIPs from our galleries to scraps, which I've protested about in the past. There's little point in posting them to scraps at the start as I wouldn't get the desired feedback sought.

Unfortunately, I had fixed the black areas, so I haven't been able to totally remove them, but I should be able to rework those areas (thank goodness for bristol board or I'd have holes in my drawing!) Thanks for the blue tac tip, I'll remember that in future :)

That's so true, you get too involved to see the obvious, I do that all the time!

Oh, do dA get a bit miffed about moving WIPs to scraps? I do it always, I don't like them in my gallery :P

Glad you got the black parts sorted, bristol is a lifesaver!

They had a big vendetta one year as part of traditional art week when deviantart rewarded deviants who filed reports to have mis-categorised deviations moved, but sadly the deviants just did the easy option and searched for 'WIP' or 'Work in Progress'. So many artists felt livid about it as they were not tackling the real issue of removing digital art, photos, etc from the DA traditional galleries.

Our anger was that our works in progress were often much more refined works compared to sketches on lined paper etc which could remain as finished works in the galleries (hence the doodle on lined paper I linked to yesterday ... we made several drawings on lined paper like that and posted them as finished works. Traditional art week pissed off a lot of artists that year). Now I try to avoid using the words work in progress in the title or description. I get around to moving my WIPs to scraps eventually, but I think that should be our choice when that happens. :)

Gosh, they're slow. Still no news yet whether B&W will decline my work, or not. At this rate, the submission might expire.

They are slow, I've not had a reason for decline in 3 days :(

Still waiting, but it's only been a week and six days! At this rate the submission will expire. They are useless as a group!

Oh dear :( I got a message from the group founder saying that they had a backlog and I should get a reason for decline soon, but to contact her in two days if I hadn't so she could look into it. So I thought that was pretty decent of her, but the submissions aren't good, frogface got one accepted though :)
