Of course, but as long as I can see mistakes or downsides in my own works it means I haven't done everything I could have done and it's my duty (or my aim, if you prefer) to produce the best picture I can possibly conceive in that particular moment, as you said it is an infinite quest and ( probably it's wrong) it has a major role in how I feel about myself as a person, I have to know that I gave 100% to feel honest with myself and whoever sees my images.
I know, I'm very much the same, extremely self-demanding, only in my case it's mostly about science. I gave up on my artistic skills years ago, that was a lost cause
