I agree. There's nothing wrong with Internet roleplay. It can be a fun and interesting activity if done in the right place and at the right time. I remember an old forum I used to go to called TV Tome (now called Tv.com) and I remember roleplaying an experiment from Lilo and Stitch. It was silly fun, especially because I was young back then and therefore still into stuff like that.

But bronies take it to a very negative extreme, notably on YouTube of course. Pony roleplaying has now been abused in a way that bronies use it to fight back against hate or criticism in a childish fashion, for example making a Derpy Hooves account so they can make attention-seeking, whiny anti-hate comments which always get thumbs up. I've even seen (and this is utterly apalling) people making accounts for "evil" characters like Gilda and Discord, deliberately insulting the good characters (which is technically in character), and getting vile replies from people pretending to be ponies. These people want to roleplay ponies, yet the act totally out of character by swearing, trolling and overusing brony-made memes. Fluttershy would never say "F**k off haters, we watch it for the plot!" for example.

And it gets worse, of course... yeah, you know what I mean.
