You did well in this piece. War is hard to depict and you did it beautifully. There is nobility, courage, loss, pain and stark reality within it.

I did like very much the muted background to draw more attention on the spotlighted couple. I also like the color choices you made. The colors depict both the warmth of the love through her, and the coldness of death in him.

Her proprtions are well done and not OVERDONE. (Many men fail in that area and you resisted the overblown proportions some choose. Bravo!)

I am curious to see if you will chosse to do a companion piece, one in which she must choose to go on, and how she chooses to incorporate the love of her past and the hope of her future..
