your skills has increased astronomically, this is amazing!

You also turn out props faster than any builder I've seen, if this is all just for practice or yourself, you are amazing. Yous should definitely check out Volpin Props, he did the same axe (quite differently) but his methods and tips might help you in the future. Also a Hilt wrap would definitely add to this piece, little leather details make all the difference for these sorts of weapons- would definitely help highlight the beautiful curved handle as well!

Link to the other axe I've seen (this was a full cast as I'm sure you can tell, so I realize that they are quite differently made, so the results are just as varied. Only posting it as a thought!) [link]

Hi, and thanks,
Yep I know Harrison (Volpin). The best is to follow his flickr : [link]
I've been following his props making for about 2 years now, but I haven't even tried casting techniques so far ... not yet anyway ^^
And for the hilt wrap, I should try to repaint it with more acurate colors, so it should look better afterwards ^^

you could also try making a wrap out of thick vinyl, it's a great leather alternative that's much cheaper and can weather quite interestingly. Holds studs for lacing fairly well in my experience- Though I'm sure your practiced painting would do just as well. Another personal opinion, but I think the lowered part of the design on the axe head could look quite nice a little darker
