Thanks for the comment. I think the thing about the zoos and circuses would be true if she had just been a horse with wings and a horn and appeared to be some kind of "freak of nature". But when she started to talk and it was obvious she had human like intelligence, I think that kind of launched things to a whole new level.

I think you are probably right about the PTA though. I took that out and just changed it to "parent-teacher meetings" since I imagine parents and teachers have gotten together for meetings as long as there have been schools.
