Well, that's actually the law for whitetails specifically, in my state, acording to my handbook. So, a bit inaccurate, yeah

Missouri is much more lenient. To my understanding, all firearms laws apply to all seasons that are hunted with centerfire firearms (coyotes and deer and such). For shotguns, I believe the only real restriction is a magazine capacity of two rounds, one in the chamber.

Ah. Minnesota is more restrictive, but less so for shotguns, there's no limits on them, other than automatic and barrel length

As long as a shotgun in Missouri is not fully-automatic and has the 2+1 capacity, I think it's legal regardless of barrel length. I have never even considered the thought anyone might try out a sawn-off shotgun/short-barreled shotgun for hunting, though, so I'd have to check barrel length laws with the game warden.

We're really pretty relaxed when it comes to hunting laws, though. I like to think our rules make sense, but aren't overly-restrictive either.

I believe that, so long as you can offer proof that you A. are who you say you are B. are not a convicted felon C. have proof of sanity and D. are levelheaded and responsible, you should be able to own most any semi-automatic weapon.

Single-shot rifles, bolt-action rifles, lever-action rifles, and semi-automatic rifles (non-NFA)...

Single-shot shotguns, double-barreled shotguns, pump-action shotguns, or semi-automatic shotguns (non-NFA)...

Single-shot pistols, semi-automatic pistols, or revolvers (non-NFA)...

All of these items require only two things in the grand state of Missouri: a properly completed Form 4473 and a "pass" of the NICS/FBI background check that's called in after 4473 completion.

See, I'd honestly argue for more, like in my last post. IMHO, I don't care how long I have to wait, or how many background checks they need to give me, because I've got nothing to hide, and if I did I shouldn't be trusted with a gun anyway. Basically: don't limit what I can buy (though I wouldn't lose any sleep over a magban, TBH, I'd never need more than 10-20 rounds anyway) but make damned sure I can be trusted with what I do buy.

I like 30-round AK mags because they're $10.00 a pop. Whereas any other capacity will be $15.00+ simply because they're not surplus.
