Princess Skyla, huh? Hmmm....Hasbro spoiled Cadence and Shining Armor with toys, so I'm pretty sure this is legitimate.
In that case...I'm kind of disappointed.
She looks almost exactly like her mom with no similarities to Armor except for the eyes. And I was hoping for a name that was musical and lovely like her mother, such as Melody.

Yeah i agree with i mean i like the name skyla but it kills it for me that she looks like nothing like shinning but atleast we know alicorns can give birth so yeah
It's too bad. I always suspected she'd have a kid, though.
My theory is that Cadence is basically a demigod of the MLP world. After all, both Luna and Celestia are a lot like the gods of Greek myth (which is shown a LOT in MLP). Those gods had children with mortals all the time, so in their thousands of years of rule, I can assume the princesses had children with mortal ponies. They say she's a "niece" of Luna and Celestia, but neither acts like a mother to her. I'm assuming by "niece" they mean a more distant relation. Perhaps she is a descendant from a love affair centuries ago, thus technically "family."
So because Cadence is a demigod, she ages like a mortal (as we saw in that episode) and her children will have mortal lives too.
